Collegiate Athletes

Making the adjustment to the next level from high school to the collegiate level can come with stress and negative emotions. The process of leaving familiar surroundings and family can take a toll on the student athlete. The development of a constructive coping processes is vital for the student athlete for opportunities of growth, maturation and a transition from childhood to young adulthood. I realize for some college students this transition will run smoothly and for others the process is not a comforting one. I also have learned that the collegiate student athlete will face post college challenges during the life after college phase that can be a daunting task.
