Certified Mental Performance Consultants of the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (CMPC-AASP) are members with a masters or doctorate who have met specific course requirements in sport and exercise psychology and have completed an extensive, supervised work experience. The disciplines included within the sport psychology field applicable to those holding the CMPC-AASP designation includes: Clinical Psychology, Educational and Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Industrial–Organizational Psychology, and Sport and Exercise Psychology from a sport science basis. The video educates the viewer that working with a Certified Mental Performance Consultant, (“helps clients develop and use mental, life, and self-regulatory skills to optimize performance, involvement, enjoyment, and personal development” AASP, 2017).
